Here's a
brief article describing some experiments in identifying what makes people lucky, and how it could be learned. The author seems to attribute most of it to observation skills and being ready for the opportunities in life, as well as habits of variety. Worth a look.
Interesting article. I've been noticing that I seem less lucky in the last couple years than I have been in the past. Have to think a bit more about the opportunities that I give myself.
ReplyDeleteDon't discount mood, attitude, outlook.
ReplyDeleteI like this! Especially the part about introducing variety to increase opportunity. Like I'm doing now by reading your blog, instead of working on my proposal project. And...think I'd better return to writing this executive summary!
ReplyDeleteHa!
ReplyDeleteHey, Doug. Lucky thing you read this post, then, eh? :)
ReplyDeleteYep! It seems to me that part of feeling luckier is being more proactive as opposed to reactive. I suppose that when I'm more alert I notice more interesting things around me, though I tend to see more problems as well!
