Aaron DaMommio: husband, father, writer, juggler, and expert washer of dishes. "DaMommio" rhymes with "the Romeo", as in "my parents told me they thought about naming me Romeo DaMommio, and I believed them, when I was ten."
Pal Mikael, of Birding on Broadmeade, recently went to Port Aransas where he took some striking photos, including this one of a pair of Crested Caracaras. Would you believe you can take a photo like this in Texas? Photo links you to the Flickr set.
Yours is exactly the type of reaction I had when I first got into birding in the early 90s. "Wow, can you believe you can find a bird like this right here in Austin?" And I keep having that reaction. And that's one of the feelings I try to get across in my blog and on my bird walks. You don't have to ride in a plane somewhere to see amazing wildlife. :)
