Threatening spam: We have hijacked your baby

Last week I got some spam with the subject line, "We have hijacked your baby."
That's the most threatening spam subject line I can recall. It included a file named, so I suppose they're banking on someone being frightened enough to open the file. 

That's pretty callous, though, to play on that particular fear. I wonder what kind of payload that file had? Was it a virus that would hijack my machine and make it part of the vast zombie networks I read about? Do we need to increase the penalties for sending spam?
